Content

Look closely at the narrow ribbon, consisting of three black and two orange stripes associated with the smoke and flames of battles. She appeared in our state back in 1769 together with the Order of St. George. For modern Russians, it serves as a symbol of victory in the Great Patriotic War... Expressing boundless respect for veterans, grief for the lost defenders of the fatherland, we decorate our clothes with St. George ribbons before May 9.

Ways to tie a St.George ribbon beautifully

Before Victory Day, taking a small piece in our hands, we get a little lost and think about how to tie the ribbon beautifully, scroll through all kinds of options so that it looks beautiful and solemn. There are no clearly defined rules here. There are many ways to tie the victory symbol. Having shown imagination, you may well invent your own, exclusive way and create an elegant bow with your own hands.

Loop or check mark

We offer you to get acquainted with the most in a simple way tying a St. George ribbon, accessible to everyone.

  • Place the ribbon on the table in front of you.
  • Fold it in half.
  • Pull one end up to make it shorter.
  • Pull it slightly to the side. It turned out a check mark.
  • To create the eyelet, slide the end that is on top of the tape up slightly. The loop should not be large, but not too small.

Simple bow

Do you know how to tie a St. George ribbon with a bow? This is not difficult. The method of tying a St. George ribbon in the form of a bow is often used by schoolchildren and veterans, and does not require any special skills.

  • In the above way, we make a large loop.
  • On the other hand, we make the same loop.
  • We cross both sides of the ribbon in the middle and fasten it with a pin.

Elegant bow

Do you want to tie the St. George ribbon in a special, elegant and beautiful way? Then turn a simple bow into an elegant one.

  • Form a simple bow.
  • Pull the middle of the bow with an elastic band.

Butterfly

St. George's ribbon in the form of a motley butterfly will certainly attract enthusiastic gaze. With a little knack, you'll be creating this masterpiece in minutes.

  • It will be inconvenient to knit a butterfly on the weight, so put the ribbon over some object that imitates the neck (pencil, finger). Make one end slightly longer than the other.
  • Cross the ends, the long one should be on top of the short one.
  • Pass the long end from bottom to top into the loop.
  • Fold the short end in half to form a bow.
  • Put the long end through the loop and place it over the resulting bow.
  • Fold the bow tightly with your fingers and fold long end twice, then pass it through the loop at the back.
  • Straighten the ends of the bow by pulling them out to the sides.

Tie

The St. George ribbon in the form of a small tie looks very nice. If you are not the first to tie a man's tie, you can easily cope with this task.

  • Wrap the ribbon around the base so that the right end is longer than the left.
  • Place the right end over the left and run crosswise under it.
  • Wrap the right end again around the left end and thread from bottom to top into the loop.
  • After pulling the end out of the loop, thread it into the resulting eyelet and tighten the tie.

Lightning

You have seen more than once on the lapel of your jacket a St. George ribbon that looks like a zipper. But you don't even know how easy it is to do it.

  • Without cutting the tape, fold it in three.
  • Stretch the top end to the left and the bottom end to the right.
  • Use pins to fasten the zipper to your garment at the folds.

The letter "M"

This method is very similar to the previous one.

  • Fold the St.George ribbon in four, place it on the table.
  • Stretch the top end to the left and the bottom end to the right to form a distinctive “M”.
  • Pin the resulting letter to your clothing.

How and where is it better to attach the St.George ribbon

Before the holiday of the Great Victory, we are given the famous St. George's ribbons so that we can wear them with pride for our fatherland. This should be done consciously, and not imitating others. Experience shows that not all people know how to properly tie a St. George ribbon. In your hands is not fashion accessory, but a symbol of military valor, so it is not woven into the hair, not attached to a skirt or trousers, and is not attached to a bag. It should be in the upper torso, on the left side, closer to the heart.

The origin of the St. George ribbon goes back to the distant 18th century. But during the Soviet Union, she experienced her rebirth, becoming part of the Order of Glory in 1943. Warriors who proved themselves to be real heroes of the Great Patriotic War and accomplished a feat were awarded with such an order. And after the end of the battle, St. George's ribbon with a carnation became an invariable symbol of victory over Nazi Germany.

If you were presented with a St. George ribbon on the eve of the holiday, think carefully about where you will place it. Mostly it is attached to a jacket or dress in the area where veterans wear orders, that is, on the left side of the chest. A brooch made of satin St. George ribbons, made in the kanzashi style, also looks beautiful here. It is allowed to wear the attribute on the wrist, it is tied with a double knot. Drivers place colorful bows inside the car, or attach them to a mirror or antenna.

Do not use St. George's Ribbon as a hair tie or shoe lace. Do not tie it around your trouser belt or your dog's collar. At the very least, this is not ethical, but by and large - disrespect for the memory of the soldiers who defended their homeland from the Nazis and gave their lives for the happy future of their children and grandchildren. Treat the symbol with respect and explain the meaning of the St.George ribbon to the younger generation.

Video instruction: how to tie a St. George ribbon

Observe the people present at the Victory Parade. True Russian patriots wear St. George ribbons, and they are tied in a variety of ways - a bow, a flower, a star, a nine, a serpentine. You won't be able to make such a ribbon with your own hands; it is better to buy it at a printing house or a sewing store. Well, everyone can tie it in an original way, with a little effort and imagination.

How to tie a bow beautifully or make a lightning from a St. George ribbon is described on many sites on the Internet, and even special schemes and video tutorials are provided. We have prepared one such master class especially for you. We recommend that you work through a few lessons, practice yourself, and then the question of how to properly handle the symbol of military glory will disappear for you once and for all.

Photo of originally tied St.George ribbons

A beautifully tied St. George ribbon attracts the attention of others, sets you apart from the crowd. Originality has always adorned a person. But the whole secret is that it doesn't really matter in what way you tied the St. George's ribbon. If pride for your fatherland reigns in your heart and great gratitude to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War for their feat of arms, the very presence of this attribute on clothes will significantly enhance the atmosphere of the holiday and raise the patriotic spirit.

On the eve of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, Russia decided to tighten the norms for wearing the traditional symbol - the St. George's ribbon. The All-Russian public movement "Victory Volunteers" announced the new rules. The St. George ribbon can only be attached to the lapel of a jacket. Unlike in previous years, it is no longer allowed to be carried on a bag or tied to a car antenna. As before, the tape cannot be worn on the head, tied below the waist or used when it is damaged. Members of the Youth Chamber at the Moscow City Duma will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of these rules in the Russian capital.

On the eve of the great Victory Day, I propose to make a strict, elegant brooch.
for work we need the following materials and tools:
- St. George ribbon (57cm);
- the basis for the brooch;
- decor (an asterisk, a button with Russian or Soviet symbols);
- glue gun;
- lighter (candle);
- tweezers;
- scissors.

Labor protection rules when working with scissors:
1. Scissors should have blunt, rounded ends.
2. Work with well-adjusted and sharpened tools
3. Place the scissors with the rings towards you, and with the closed blades away from you.
4. Do not leave cutting tools open.
5. Observe the movement of the blades while cutting.
6. Pass the scissors rings forward, holding the closed ends.
7. Do not play with cutting tools, do not bring it to your face.
8. When working with scissors, do not walk around the office. Work at your desk.
9. Use these tools only for their intended purpose.

Labor protection rules when working with a candle and matches, a lighter:
1. Remove loose hair.
2. Do not lean low over a candle or match flame.
3. The candle should be in a glass or tin container.
4. Do not throw burnt matches into the urn, but put them in glass, tin dishes.

Labor protection rules when working with a thermal gun:
1. Do not leave unattended.
2. When working, place the thermo-gun on a support, not on its side.
3. Work only with serviceable tools.
4. Do not touch the gun tip or touch hot glue.
5. Switch off after finishing work.

So let's get started!
For the brooch, we need four pieces of the St.George ribbon:
1 - 25 cm;
2 - 15cm;
3 - 10cm;
4 - 7cm.

First let's do basis from a tape 25cm long.
Fold the edge of the tape in half and cut it off with scissors, as shown in the photo.

This way of processing the edge of the tape is called a "flag".

We process the cut edges over a candle fire or a lighter.

We form a loop from the tape. Along the lines indicated in the photo, we apply glue to the inner side, thereby fixing the given shape. Note: the farther apart you spread the edges of the tape, the larger the upper part (loop) will be.

It is also desirable to fix the tape on the reverse side.

The base is ready. We proceed directly to the implementation of the bow.
We process the edges of the remaining three segments over the fire, fix the edge with tweezers to avoid burns. And the edge is smoother!

So, the tapes are ready to go.

We take 15 cm long cuts and apply hot melt glue along the edge (without fanaticism!).

While the glue has not cooled down, form a ring from the tape.

Now we fold the resulting part in half, focusing on the place of gluing. We outline a fold from the opposite edge.

From the inside, apply hot glue to the place of the fold and fix it with the opposite side.

Apply glue on the other side of the fold and get this detail.

Similarly, we form the second part from a segment 10 cm long.

Apply hot melt glue along the middle line and connect two blanks. The bow is almost done!

It remains to make a jumper for the bow.
Apply hot melt glue along the orange strip on a 7 cm segment.

Tuck in, glue. Apply with a strip of hot melt glue on the other side.

It turns out this is a strip.

Assembly.
Apply hot melt glue to the bow along the middle line. Please Note: Smaller Detail Above!

We glue the jumper.

Turn over and glue the ends of the jumper on the reverse side.
Apply hot glue to the back of the bow.

We glue the bow to the loop base.

Hello dear readers! With all my heart, dear women, happy holiday! Peace, kindness, love and prosperity to your family! How are you? For me, yes, the sun is shining brighter and brighter, the days are warm, even if the weather was always like this and did not deteriorate. The soul is waiting for something, for some renewal, for something that cannot be expressed in words, first of all, it is probably waiting for cleansing, but for him now is the time, the time of Great Lent. And I continue the needlework theme, go far ahead, but the time is so fleeting that we won't have time to look back and May is already knocking on the door. And this means you need to prepare a kanzashi brooch by May 9, moreover, I have prepared for you detailed master class with photos and videos, there will be several brooches so that you have a choice.

I don't know how things are in other cities, but on May 9 we always have a holiday in the city, congratulations to veterans, who, unfortunately, are already so few, concerts of children's and adult groups, competitions, exhibitions, fairs, they sell a lot of products from tapes, including kanzashi by May 9, the choice is very wide, people's imagination works 200%). Of course, I make brooches for Victory Day on my own, and for all the relatives who are going to be at a holiday in the city that day and decorate their clothes. Last year I made my daughter, if you remember from the tape, the tricolor with the use of St. George. They looked very cool on the head of the dochuli, it's a pity that you can wear them only once a year, now they are waiting for the next exit).

I was going to make for you a master class on kanzashi brooches by May 9 last year, but something did not work out, it did not work out in time, because in spring there is always not enough of it, I want to walk more on the street with children and enjoy the spring sun, what there are master classes and articles), so you need to somehow tune yourself that the blog is also a child and he needs to devote time, at least a bit, even though spring is in the yard, so that he grows up and matures, he needs food in the form of my master classes.

I will offer you several options for kanzashi brooches to choose from. All of them are very easy to do, I specially selected simple and quick optionsso that even a beginner can handle it. The first brooch tricolor spikelet.

Kanzashi brooch for May 9 "Spikelet tricolor"

For this brooch we need:

  • Satin ribbon white, blue, red 5 cm wide
  • George ribbon (satin, or any other) 2.5 cm wide
  • Plastic star, 2 white half-beads for brooch decoration
  • Glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Candle
  • Tweezers

First, you need to cut the tape into squares 5 by 5 cm, we need six white squares, 4 blue and 4 red squares for one spikelet. Since we will be making a double sharp petal, we will use two squares for one petal. If necessary, in case the ribbon is falling heavily, you can burn the edges of the squares on the candle. After that, we add a simple sharp kanzashi petal, from such wonderful petals are obtained.

Let me briefly remind you of the sequence of folding such a petal: we fold the square into a triangle, again into a triangle, hold the resulting triangle between the fingers of the left hand for now, fold the exact same triangle from another square, put one triangle on top of the other, as shown in the photo and connect the lower corners ... Cut off a little at the junction, clamp with tweezers and solder on the candle. We also cut the lower edge of the petal by a few millimeters and burn it on a candle. The double sharp petal is ready. So we need to make three white double petals, two blue and two red ones.

Now we warm up the glue gun and first glue the white petals in this order, first two together, then glue the third between the two so that it is slightly higher than them. Next, we glue two blue ones and attach them to white and two red ones, which we then glue to the blue ones, we get such a spikelet of the Russian tricolor.

Now we will decorate our kanzashi brooch for May 9 with half-beads and an asterisk, here, of course, there are no clear recommendations on how and what to decorate with, the options are endless, you can fantasize a lot, this is the simplest decoration option, I liked it for its simplicity and severity. We also glue the half-beads and the asterisk with hot glue.

At the last stage, you need to make the base of the brooch from the St. George ribbon, my ribbon is not satin, but from some material, unfortunately, I don’t know which one, but it doesn’t matter, it can be made of any material, if only St. George's. We need it 20-25 cm. We fold the ends of the tape in half and cut them obliquely to get pointed beautiful ends. Then we fold the tape as shown in the photo, putting it a little on top of each other, I glued the tapes together with a drop of hot glue. On the right side we glue our tricolor spikelet, and on the back side I attached a small pin, you can buy a special round base for a brooch, they are sold in handicraft stores.

The next brooch, the master class of which I want to show you, will be with tulips.

Kanzashi brooch for May 9 with tulips

For the tulip brooch we need:

  • Satin ribbon white and red 5 cm wide
  • Green satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide (I also have a silver edging)
  • Floristic wire green
  • Tape white 0.6 mm wide with silver edging - 15 cm
  • White half-bead
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Small pin (or special base for a brooch)
  • Soldering iron
  • Glass or wooden plank
  • Metal ruler
  • White thread, needle
  • Candle
  • Tweezers

We will make tulips for a brooch using the same technology that we made petals for flowers when decorating. We will only have a different color of the ribbon, and the sequence of production is no different. I didn't even shoot the video again, because I had already shown this petal and I will post the previous video. We cut the tape into 5 by 5 cm squares.

I decided to make two red tulips and one white, you could do everything red or white, that's up to you. For one tulip, we need two squares of 5 x 5 cm ribbon.

Here you can watch a detailed video of an inverted kanzashi petal, from which we will make tulips for a brooch.

We fold an ordinary sharp petal, only then we turn it out, you can see the sequence in the photo and video lesson. To get a whole tulip, you need to glue two inverted petals together.

To make leaves for tulips, we will use a green ribbon 2.5 cm wide, I have a ribbon with a silver edging at home, which I will use. For one leaf, we need a piece of tape 10 cm long, fold it in half, so that the front side is inward. For greater clarity, watch the video tutorial on how to make such a green leaf, just keep in mind that the video tape is of a larger width, and in this case we need a tape 2.5 cm wide, from the video you can just watch the manufacturing technology.

We warm up the soldering iron, put the folded tape on the glass plate, apply a metal ruler diagonally from above and draw a line of soldering irons, we get such a green leaf. We need three of these leaves. When they are all ready, we glue a tulip bud inside each leaf. After that, you need to glue the green leaves together, thus forming a bouquet of three tulips.

Now we need to make stems of tulips from floristic wire, I cut off three stems of 4 cm each, twisted them together and pasted them on the back of our bouquet of tulips from ribbons. By the way, if you missed my huge in-depth article with step-by-step photos and videos on how to do it, then I recommend that you definitely watch.

To decorate the bouquet, I decided to make a small ribbon bow of 0.6 mm white with a silver edging. We need a piece of 15 cm, fold it with a bow, as shown in the photo, I decided to sew this one in the middle with threads, and from above in the place where I sewed in the middle I glued a white half-bead with hot glue. Then she glued this bow to a bouquet of tulips. So it looks more elegant.

We make the basis for a kanzashi brooch with tulips in exactly the same way as I showed you above, using a St. George ribbon with a segment of 20-25 cm. It remains only to glue the resulting bouquet to a correctly folded St. George ribbon. On the back of the brooch we attach a pin or a special buckle for a brooch.

Kanzashi brooch for May 9 with carnation

For such a brooch we need:

  • Red satin ribbon 5 cm or 4 cm wide
  • Green satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide
  • George ribbon 2.5 cm wide (20-25 cm)
  • Cotton swab
  • Green tape
  • Scissors
  • Candle
  • Hot glue

How to make a satin ribbon carnation

I never thought that a satin ribbon carnation is so simple and easy. To do this, we need a red satin ribbon 5 cm wide.Cut off six squares of the ribbon 5 by 5 cm.If you want the carnation to be smaller, you can take a ribbon 4 cm wide.Circles must be carefully cut out of these squares, cutting off the corners, circles you need to try to make the diameter as large as possible. Now we need a candle.

We bring the edge of the circle to the lower flame of the candle and quickly with our fingers, until the tape has cooled, we make a scar, in the video you will see this process in live action, if something is not clear from the photo. When all the circles have been processed in this way, we take one circle, bend it in half, and again in half, glue it with hot glue at the fold below.

It turned out a separate part of the future carnation, we need 6 such parts. When they are all ready, we glue them together, we get such a small and neat carnation. Now we will make the leaves of a carnation, they are thin in a natural flower, we will try to make similar ones, we cut thin long leaves 4-5 cm in length from a green ribbon 2.5 cm wide, I cut out by eye without templates, I think that each of you saw a carnation live and remembers what leaves it has. We process the cut leaves on a candle, make bends and scars, see the video for more details.

Cut off the cotton heads from the cotton swab and leave only the plastic swab. We wrap it with green tape and glue the leaves and the flower of the carnation itself with hot terminals to the stem. For decoration, I decided to make a small white bow for this carnation from a satin ribbon. Only I didn't sew it, I just glued it with hot glue and attached a red half-bead in the middle, just to match the color of the carnation.

We glue the bow on lower part stalk of a carnation. It remains only to stick the carnation on the base of St. George's ribbon and pin a pin on the back side, or a special blank for a brooch with a fastener, which must first be glued with hot glue.

Here are such simple kanzash brooches for Victory Day, I wanted to suggest you do it, it is both beautiful and patriotic, and you can do it yourself, one brooch will take you no more than an hour. You can watch a video tutorial on how to make a kanzashi brooch with a carnation.

Dear friends, what happens on May 9 in your cities and villages is probably also a holiday and there are many exhibitions where you can buy such products from satin ribbons?

In our city, right there are a lot of people doing this seriously, they make it to order, I'm just an amateur, I create on the sly for my loved ones, I don't have more time. I could offer you a couple more ideas for kanzashi brooches for May 9, but in order not to tire you out of this article, I will finish, I hope that mine will be useful to you. step by step photos how to make a brooch from satin ribbons on May 9.

Hello dear readers! I'm a little late with this master class, because tomorrow is Victory Day, but I made these kanzashi by May 9 for my daughter's hair for a matinee in kindergartendedicated to Victory Day. Did it the day before, one might say in a hurry for two hours). Something is not enough time for my favorite work.

I try to find it as best I can). I also want to have time to make at least small and simple brooches by May 9, if I do then I will share, albeit belatedly, they will be useful by next year).

So, I made the simplest patriotic bows on rubber bands. I have already shown how to make such petals in some master classes. Here you can see the formation of such petals in the video tutorial, where I did it.

For these bows we need:

  • Satin ribbon 4 cm wide - the color of the Russian flag
  • St.George ribbon narrow, 2.5 cm wide
  • White felt
  • Blue centers
  • Tweezers
  • Candle
  • Glue gun
  • White elastic bands for hair

In our handicraft store, I saw a ribbon in the color of our flag and decided that I would make patriotic bows, here both Russia and St. George's ribbon will be all at once. At a cost, such a ribbon is more expensive, but it was enough for two bows of one meter.

Kanzashi by May 9 master class

So, first you need to cut the flag-colored ribbon into pieces of 8.5 cm long, and the St.George ribbon 6 cm long. For one bow, we will need 5 pieces of the flag color and 5 pieces of the St. George ribbon. I made two bows, so I made 10 of those and 10 others in total.

The next step is to shape the petals. For this we use a candle and tweezers. Fold the tape, as shown in the photo, so that at the bottom we get an isosceles triangle.

Now we fold the ribbons in half, bend one and the second edge of the ribbon inward and form a petal, for clarity, you can see the formation of the petals in this video, the petals are identical, the material is just different.

But in fact nothing else is needed, the rest is all clear and understandable. We form petals from both types of ribbons using the same technology, the petals simply differ in size. Now you need to warm up the glue gun and start glueing the flag color petals together, lubricating the side of the petal, apply another petal to it and gently press them together with your fingers or tweezers. We glue only 5 petals.

We also glue the petals from the St.George ribbon. Now we grease the bottom of the St. George ribbon flower and apply it to the flag-colored flower so that it is in the middle and looks good from above.

Now from the felt you need to cut a small circle in diameter suitable for the diameter of your middle. I found the blue centers in my house, they fit perfectly, although you can use both red and white as you want. With the help of hot glue, first we glue the felt base on the middle, then grease it with glue and glue it on the bow itself.

The next step is to cut a circle with a diameter of 4 cm from felt and, having smeared it with hot glue, glue it to the bottom of the patriotic bow by May 9. It remains now to attach the hair tie.

To do this, cut out a strip of felt, 1-1.5 cm wide and 4.5-5 cm long and threading a strip of felt through the elastic band, grease it and part of the elastic with hot glue and apply to the felt base on a bow. Press well with your fingers and give the glue the opportunity to "grab" and dry a little.

If desired, it could be decorated with a bow with beads, half-beads and stamens. For lack of time, I did not do this, and if you have the opportunity, be sure to make your kanzashi by May 9 even more beautiful for your hair.

Such a bow can easily be used as a brooch, and not just for hair, then instead of the usual elastic band for hair, we attach the brooch base or the most ordinary pin on the back side. I have already seen a lot of people walking around the city with beautiful brooches by May 9th. We need to have time to do something for ourselves, all the more so that all family members need time to build kanzashi by May 9.

Do you wear brooches on Victory Day? Previously, we always bought simply St. George's ribbons and folded it in a certain way attached to clothes, now I am not allowed to just wear a ribbon, but I can do something more beautiful), so my relatives expect brooches from me).

How the petals are formed for the rubber bands I have shown, see the video, although it does not apply to this article, the petals are the same.

I wish you all good, peaceful and warm holidays! Happy Victory Day!

I wish all the living veterans of the Second World War good health and a deep bow! And to those who are not with us - eternal memory!

With respect and love, Elena Kurbatova.
