The downside of this idea is that creating paper decorations takes a lot of time, so if we are talking about decorating a school hall, I advise you to conduct several master classes with middle and high school children school age. This the only way get a lot of the same elements for your holiday decoration.

Large voluminous flowers and pompoms

Pompoms of different colors and sizes can be bought in online stores. They will be delivered folded, all you have to do is fluff them up.

If you have time and free hands, you can do it yourself.

How to decorate a hall with voluminous garlands

The point is this: you need to do it volumetric figures made of paper, which are then strung at some distance from each other on threads, fishing lines or thin ribbons. Such garlands hanging from the ceiling will greatly decorate a music or assembly hall.

Here is my example - pigeons in the clouds: I print out a diagram of a paper dove (by the way). For one garland we need two such birds. Cut out and fold along the folds, looking at the drawing in the right corner.

We will alternate pigeons with paper clouds like these. I don’t give you a diagram - we randomly cut out identical parts from 2 sheets of A4 format, bend them and fasten them in the center with a stapler. In a large figure, I cut out a small detail inside. This will also be a small cloud.

All! All that remains is to assemble our voluminous garland onto a string! I did this with a needle, securing the parts simply with a “step back” seam so that they would not roll down.

How do you like my pigeons in the clouds? By the way, these garlands spin very beautifully from any air movement. In the diagram the dove has legs, but we don't need it to stand on the table, I just made a curve at the bottom.

Cardboard letters

The inscriptions on the back of the stage are a weak point almost always and everywhere. The letters are poorly painted, the letter spacing is not maintained, and everything, as a rule, looks unprofessional.

If possible, it is better not to do this at all :-). But there are times when inscriptions or numbers are required. For example, a school anniversary.

I suggest decorating large cardboard letters with small flowers from colored napkins. The work is painstaking, but the effect is quite interesting.

The napkins are the most ordinary, small ones. One flower requires 2 napkins. Place them folded one on top of the other, draw a circle using a saucer, and cut them out. We fasten it in the center with a stapler. What to do next can be seen in the picture. We fix the resulting flowers with glue on a cardboard blank with numbers or letters.

Wall decorations

The picture on the left shows charming flowers with voluminous petals. Cut out the hearts, fold them in half, and glue one side. We made them quite large - one petal was made from half a landscape sheet. A noticeable decoration, no doubt about it! We attached them to strips of plain blue wallpaper and decorated the backdrop of the stage.

On the right picture is a “musical” wreath made from photocopies of music pages. The rolls are easy to roll and the results are amazing!

Let's start by deciding what we will do, namely snowflakes, stars or paper napkins. Of course cut a simple snowflake, a star or a paper napkin is not at all difficult, but we want to do everything beautifully. Many people have probably already been involved in this type of creativity in childhood, and this article will help you remember slightly forgotten skills. And for those of you who are trying to cut out a snowflake from paper for the first time, our series of articles will help you learn some little tricks to amaze your guests.

Materials and tools for cutting out paper snowflakes, stars and napkins

When working, you will have to cut through several layers of paper at the same time. Choose paper and scissors so that making crafts is easy and relaxed.

To cut out snowflakes from paper, we recommend taking ordinary office paper; if you want white, you can also use colored paper. In principle, any paper will do, maybe for origami, or sets of colored paper designed for children’s creativity. Also use shiny flower packaging or wrapping paper, the main rule is that the material is not very thick, otherwise it will be difficult to cut out your crafts.

Ready-made snowflakes can be attached to a wall, mirror, window or hung on a chandelier. To glue snowflakes, it is better to take paper that is painted on only one side, so you will not damage the surface. FOR hanging, you can take paper with double-sided coloring, or there is gold and silver paper, it is sold in specialized stores. Simply amazing paper snowflakes can be cut out from ordinary parchment paper or pencil tracing paper.

So, to cut snowflakes from paper you will need to prepare the following:

scissors, preferably in two sizes, small and large; depending on the complexity of the ornament, you will use the scissors that are more convenient for cutting.
triangular ruler and protractor, it is better to take a rectangular ruler with angles of 30 and 60 degrees
a sharpened pencil for drawing and an eraser to remove excess
stationery knife, it is better to take a small one or a prototype one
an iron ruler and some kind of backing for cutting paper, or just thick cardboard.
and of course all kinds of sheets of paper or something similar

Folding paper blanks

Real snowflakes always have six rays. This is how ice crystals work. But by folding the blanks with four or five rays, you can cut out wonderful napkins or stars.

Preparing the Paper

Take a piece of paper and fold the corner of the paper towards you so that short side completely matched the length.

Secure the fold by running it along the edge of the table. You now have an isosceles right triangle.

Place the folded sheet on the backing. Cut the resulting triangle using a metal ruler and a breadboard knife.

Paper napkin blanks

Align the corners of the prepared paper and bend the sheet in half, as shown in the photo. Secure the fold. You again have an isosceles right triangle.

Fold the paper very carefully, checking each time that the edges match. If the finished napkin is distorted, the parts will have different widths.

Fold the sheet again, aligning the vertices of the sharp corners of the triangle.

Blanks for paper stars

Align the top of the right angle of the prepared sheet of paper with the middle of the hypotenuse and bend the paper.

Align the vertex of the right angle of the resulting small auxiliary triangle with the middle of its hypotenuse and bend the paper again. Unfold the paper.

These folds are auxiliary. There is no need to secure them. If it is difficult for you to make such folds, you can make markings with a pencil on a separate sheet of paper, and then simply transfer it to the workpieces.

Bend the triangle on both sides so that the halves of the hypotenuse lie on the tops of the acute corners of the small auxiliary triangle.

Fold the paper towards you again on both sides along the halves of the hypotenuse of the triangle.

Trim the excess paper along the line shown in the photo.

Blanks for snowflakes made of paper

Mark the middle of the hypotenuse of the prepared sheet of paper.

Take a protractor or a triangle 90°x60°x30°. Place the protractor's "0" point or the tip of its 60° angle at the middle of the hypotenuse of the paper triangle, as shown in the photo. Mark the 60° angle and draw a fold line.

Fold the paper towards you along the resulting lines.

Bend the workpiece in half.

Trim the excess paper along the line shown in the photo.

4. Turn the napkin over, keeping the folded design in the same position.

5. Bend bottom part up.

6. Lift the napkin from the bottom as if you were going to fold it in half.

This is what it should look like. The bottom two sections will act as the two bottom rays of the star.

7. Lower the top two sections to the middle, thereby straightening the remaining two rays of the star.

* Adjust the napkin so that its sections are more or less even, and place it on a plate as a table decoration.

* You can use a paper napkin, and if you take several different colors, the New Year's table will look even brighter and more cheerful.

Napkin rings for New Year

You will need:

Cardboard sleeves from toilet paper

Acrylic paints or gouache and brush

Buttons

Sequins and rhinestones

PVA glue

Hot glue.

1. Cut 10 cardboard tubes lengthwise and paint each one green color from the inside.

2. When the paint is dry, paint the outside of the bushings.

3. Cut (lengthwise) each of the painted bushings into strips 5-6 mm wide.

4. To make the main branches of the future Christmas tree, prepare several strips and twist one end of each strip around a tassel to create a twist. The lower the branch, the less you need to twist the strip.

5. Using hot glue, glue all the branches together. Add a few more branches to the sides and glue them too.

6. Coat the sides of the branches with PVA glue and sprinkle glitter on top.

* You can glue small buttons and rhinestones to the Christmas tree.

7. Cut some more cardboard tubes in half and paint each half red. The number of halves depends on the number of napkins.

8. Glue your Christmas tree to the painted half.

Now you can thread a napkin through the ring and decorate your holiday table with this craft.

New Year's napkin in the shape of a lily (diagram)

1. Place the napkin on the table and fold it in half diagonally.

2. Place the resulting triangle so that its apex is facing you.

3. Bend the bottom so that the top slightly overlaps the base of the triangle by about 2-3 cm.

4. Fold the napkin like an accordion from left to right.

5. Hold the napkin firmly and insert it into the glass or ring to form a lily.

New Year's crafts from napkins: double Christmas tree

1. Prepare two napkins of different colors, but approximately the same size. Place one on top of the other. The napkin with the main color should lie below.

2. Fold the napkin in half once, and then again.

3. Turn the napkin so that all of its loose ends are facing you.

4. Fold the first layer up.

5. Start folding each new layer upward, leaving about 2 cm from the top one.

6. Turn the napkin so that the top of the napkin is facing away from you. Now turn it over.

7. Fold the right side 2/3 and then also fold the left side (see image). The top of the fold should be parallel to the edge of your table. You should end up with a small triangle.

8. To keep all layers in place, secure them with a paper clip or large paper clip as shown in the image. Turn the napkin over again so that all layers are facing you.

9. Start bending each triangle inside the layer above.

DIY Napkin Rings: Red Flower

You will need:

Felt (green and red)

Beads (3 pieces)

Cardboard tube made from toilet paper or paper towel

Scissors

PVA glue or hot glue.

1. Cut the cardboard tubes into 2 or 4 pieces.

2. Cut a piece of felt that can cover a piece of cardboard sleeve.

3. Wrap felt in pieces of cardboard sleeves and secure with glue. It's best to use hot glue, but you can also try PVA glue. You have a ring to which you need to add a beautiful flower..

4. Prepare red felt and cut out several leaves from it (see image).

5. Glue 5 leaves first, and then glue 5 more on top.

6. Glue beads on top of the resulting flowers.
