Hello. I am posting a size range from 80 to 152 cm for dress patterns for girls. Loose fit dress with sleeves.

The pattern is like this.

Simple cut dress. Sleeve pattern with a fold, the same piping line for the front and back.

The neckline is high, the kind to which the collar is sewn. If there is no collar, the neck should be deepened and widened.

Despite the fact that the dimensions are given up to a height of 152 cm, the patterns are designed for undeveloped children's figures.

The sleeve, of course, doesn’t have to be sewn on.

The length of the dress is to the knee.

flounces

make the dress multi-layered.

I also collected several options for modeling the pattern: how you can modify the dress.

You can cut off the skirt and gather it. The width of the skirt is doubled.

My dear seamstresses! I am glad to welcome you))).

What could be more beautiful than summer, greenery, warmth, sun! Summer is the most fertile time for sewing masterpieces, because the variety of ideas and fabrics simply captivates the imagination, and you can even sew a dress from a scarf, simply wrapping it around yourself...

Today we will not be sewing a dress from a scarf, but the idea is still as simple as possible.

We will sew a light linen dress for a girl without a pattern.

This dress has only two parts, the short sleeve is cut out integrally with the main part of the dress, so there are four seams - two shoulder and two side - and the dress is ready, all that remains is to process the sections.

How to choose fabric for a summer dress?

Currently, the choice of fabric can rather be a problem due to its diversity, since there are a lot of fabrics, and how to decide?

Therefore, let's look at those factors that are fundamentally important.

  1. Firstly, the fabric must breathe (it’s summer!), so we choose natural fabrics - linen, cotton, silk.
  2. Secondly, the dress should not wrinkle much, for this reason it is desirable to contain a small synthetic process in natural fabric.
  3. And, of course, whoever likes it, but I always prefer stretchy fabric to non-stretchy fabric, it’s more comfortable to wear, it’s more convenient to dress, it looks better on the figure, it’s more flexible.

Considering all of the above, I will take stretch linen for this children’s dress - it will breathe and fit well.

How to sew a dress without a pattern for a girl?

I would like to draw your attention once again to the fact that I have an amateur blog, and I always focus on making the process of creating things as simple as possible.

What does it mean?

I simplify all the points that can be simplified. Clearly constructing a pattern where this can be avoided is a waste of time and effort.

Our children grow so quickly that if you make patterns for them, you will have to do them very often. For an adult, it is acceptable to create a base pattern once and then use it to sew a bunch of dresses and other clothes, if you don’t adjust.

This trick doesn’t work with children: we either build anew all the time, or we adapt. Of course, the second option suits me.

What are we doing? We take a favorite dress, similar to the one we want to sew, and we will trace it directly onto the fabric, making some adjustments.

  • Sew a dress from butter knitwear with your own hands without a pattern

Linen fabric is washed and ironed before use; the grain thread should run vertically to the product, on the dress - from top to bottom.

I want to sew a dress not with a square neckline, but with a round one, so I will round the neckline, the sleeves will be one-piece with the main part, we will adjust the length as desired, so we will outline the dress taking into account centimeter allowances.

We cut out two parts - front and back:

Now we sew them along the shoulder and side seams:

The next step can be done before sewing the side sections. Now you need to trim the sleeve sections with bias tape. To do this, cut out a strip of fabric 2 cm wide, length = two sections of the sleeve.

We visually divide the long strip into 4 longitudinal parts, it turns out that the width of the allowance is 0.5 cm. We sew a strip of fabric to the cut of the sleeve, folding it face to face:

Then we fold the cut of the bias tape by 0.5 cm and fix it with a machine stitch for convenience:

Now we fold the stitched edge of the bias tape onto the wrong side of the sleeve and sew it with a straight stitch along the front side of the sleeve into the split seam or at a distance of 1 mm from the junction of the tape and the sleeve.

Now we process the bottom of the dress with a double hem. Fold it 0.5 cm to the wrong side and sew with a straight stitch to secure it in place:

Then we fold it again and stitch it, this way the raw cut along the bottom of the dress will be hidden.

And I’ll tell you the main points in a nutshell.

We cut a strip of fabric 2.5-3 cm along the bias, i.e. diagonally relative to the grain thread, such binding will stretch well, like an elastic band, and there will be no folds of fabric at the neckline.

We sew bias tape along the front side of the neckline, the tape should be held with a slight stretch relative to the fabric of the neckline, the cut of the neckline should not be stretched under any circumstances, only the tape should be stretched. Then it will turn out perfect.

Just looking at this cute dress with a big bow makes me want to sew it! And even if you have very little experience in sewing, you can easily handle sewing this dress, and your girl will be delighted with it! Of course, in addition to the fashionable black and white colors and stylish silhouette, this dress is decorated with a stunning bow!

The dress pattern is modeled according to

Dress pattern modeling

Rice. 1. Modeling the front and back of the dress

On the basic back pattern, deepen the neckline by 3 cm and make a new back neckline. Fold the back along the waist line by 1.5 cm and flare it out at the bottom by 2.3-3 cm. Shorten the shoulder length by 2.5 cm and draw a new armhole line.

Draw a one-piece facing for the neckline and back armhole, 3 cm wide, as shown in Fig. 1.

Dress front modeling

Deepen the front neckline by 3 cm. Shorten the shoulder length by 2.5 cm and draw a new armhole line. Tighten the front along the waistline by 1.5 cm and flare out at the bottom by 2.3-3 cm.

Draw a one-piece facing for the neckline and front armhole, 3 cm wide, as shown in Fig. 1.

Draw horizontal lines along the front to separate the pattern by color. Divide the back pattern in the same way. Cut the back and front patterns into pieces and cut them out of fabric in 2 colors.

How to cut a dress

To sew a dress you will need: about 0.5 m each of black and milky satin, 145 cm wide, hidden zipper 40 cm long, thread.

Advice! To avoid mistakes when purchasing fabric, take a set of patterns with you to the fabric store. It will be even easier to sew a dress if you buy fabric with wide stripes.

Rice. 2. Dress cut details

Cut out parts numbered 1 from black satin, numbered 2 from white satin. Cut out one-piece facings and a bow from black fabric.

Seam allowances - 1.5 cm, along the bottom of the dress - 3 cm, details of facings and bow are duplicated with thermal fabric. Additionally, cut out a strip for the bow bridge 8 cm wide and 8 cm long.

How to sew a dress

Sew the details of the front and back of the dress, alternating black and milky details. Process seam allowances and iron. Sew the side seams. Sew a hidden zipper along the back.

Finish the neckline and armholes of the dress with one-piece facings

Tuck and hem the allowances along the bottom of the dress by hand.

Sew the rectangle for the bow along the seam allowances, leaving an open area for turning. Turn the rectangle inside out and iron it, sew up the open area. Fold the jumper in half and stitch it, turn it right side out, and iron it. Place pleats on the bow, wrap it with a jumper, pull it together, straightening the folds, sew up the jumper allowances by hand. Sew the bow to the dress using the markings by hand.

Your dress is ready! We wish you pleasant spring days!

Girls love dresses with full skirts, because in such dresses they seem like fairy-tale princesses. Therefore, dresses for girls made of tulle are very popular. You can buy such a dress, or you can make it yourself, even without sewing skills.

Tulle is a thin fabric that resembles a cobweb. But at the same time, it is a very durable material; it is practically impossible to tear it apart with your hands. Essentially, tulle is a mesh made from nylon threads.

Depending on the size of the mesh cells, materials of different degrees of rigidity are distinguished. The material can be soft, then long flowing skirts are sewn from it. And from a more rigid variety of material you can make a tutu skirt.

Tulle is available in different colors; in addition, it can be decorated with sparkles, spraying, and prints.

When planning to purchase or sew a dress for a girl with a tulle skirt, be sure to pay attention to the quality of the material. Fabric produced in the European Union is ideal for children's clothing. It does not wrinkle and is soft enough, so it is comfortable to wear.

But tulle made in China is tougher. In addition, Chinese tulle does not meet fire safety requirements. When exposed to open fire, it bursts into flames. And eurofatin, thanks to the use of special technologies, begins to slowly smolder when exposed to fire.

When choosing a material, pay attention to the width of the fabric. To sew a regular skirt, you should choose a fabric 1.5-3 meters wide, but if you plan to make a tutu skirt, then it is more profitable to take narrow tulle, sold in rolls, then the strips will not have to be cut to width.

How to make a tutu skirt?

Almost all fluffy children's dresses made of tulle have a tutu skirt; it is also called a “tutu.” This is a multi-layered fluffy model, consisting of several (at least ten) layers of fabric.

Even mothers who don’t know how to sew can easily make a children’s skirt here with their own hands. You will need rolled tulle 10-15 cm wide and a wide elastic band for the belt.

You can take one-color tulle or buy several rolls of different colors, then the skirt will turn out to be colorful. Operating procedure:

  • Let's measure the girl's waist and cut the elastic for the belt of the required length. This is a very important point, the belt should not be tight, but too loose will be uncomfortable;
  • using a centimeter we determine the length of our future skirt, we determine it at will, but short skirts look better;
  • cut the rolled tulle into strips, the length of which is twice the desired length of the skirt;
  • We begin to tie strips of tulle to the elastic waistband, folding the strips of fabric in half. The more tightly the stripes are placed, the more magnificent the skirt will be. When making a variegated model, you need to alternate strips of tulle of different shades, achieving the desired pattern;
  • after the elastic belt is completely covered with tulle ribbons, the skirt will be ready;
  • If desired, you can further decorate the skirt using bows, satin ribbons, artificial flowers, etc.

What to wear with it?

A homemade tutu skirt can easily be turned into an elegant dress. To do this you need to choose a beautiful top. It is best to wear such a skirt with leggings, as it is see-through. But you can do without leggings if you sew a petticoat from satin or other suitable fabric.

This outfit is suitable for a matinee in kindergarten or a home party. You can complement the set with tulle bows, decorating the girl’s hair with them.

Elegant dresses

For a special event, for example, a graduation party in kindergarten or elementary school, you will need a more elegant outfit than a homemade skirt made from tulle ribbons.

What types of elegant children's dresses made of tulle are there? A variety of models can be seen in the photo, this :

  • outfits with multi-layer tutu skirts, but not in stripes, but in sun style;

  • dresses made of satin and other dense fabrics with fluffy tulle petticoats. The petticoat is made longer than the skirt so that it is clearly visible. In addition, the petticoat may have a color contrasting with the color of the dress;
  • dresses made of tulle in an A-shaped silhouette, knee-length or slightly lower, with a sheath and flowing one or two layers of tulle;

  • dresses in the empire style, in which the overskirts are made of tulle. This dress can be made with a train, but you need to take into account that this detail may interfere with the girl’s movement. Therefore, the train should be short, and it could be pinned to the skirt or worn on the hand, putting a special loop on the wrist.

What to wear with it?

Elegant dresses require elegant accessories. You will need neat shoes, white or just light-colored tights. You can decorate your hair with a lush bow or pick up a small hat with a tulle veil.
