How to do business on countertops. Manufacture of artificial stone countertops

Glossary of terms

Adhesion- (from the Latin word adhaesio, meaning "sticking") - the phenomenon when two surfaces of dissimilar bodies are connected together due to surface forces or other adhesion mechanisms. This term refers to adhesion, the ability of a material to adhere to a base, for example, an enamel film to a primer. The ability of adhesion of two dissimilar bodies at the molecular level, the ability to adhere to the surfaces of dissimilar bodies. Good adhesion of the applied material to the surface means high strength and reliability (plasters, fillers, paints) fixation (tiles, panels, etc.). Literally, stickiness. This word characterizes the degree of adhesion of materials to the surface.

Reinforcement(from the Latin word armatura meaning "armament") - strengthening, increasing the strength of a material or structure with another material. It is used in the manufacture of reinforced concrete and stone structures, glassware, plastics, ceramics, gypsum, etc.

Butanox(Butanox) is a trademark of AkzoNobel polymer resin hardener (MEKR, MEKP)
The Butanox® brand is a world famous brand of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (synonyms: methyl ethyl ketone peroxide, MEKP, MEKP). These products are used for curing resins and gelcoats. The application of Butanox is very wide - from acrylic bathtubs to sports cars, from fishing rods to industrial storage tanks. Butanox is the most chemically stable MEKP formulation on the market with a guaranteed low content water.

Initiator(catalyst, hardener) - a substance that causes the polymerization reaction of an unsaturated polyester resin.

Catalyst(from Greek. catalysis- dissolution) - a substance that accelerates or slows down a chemical reaction, while itself does not change.

Release wax is an external anti-adhesion material. Anti-adhesive (separating) compounds are understood as chemicals that create an anti-adhesive barrier between the surface of the tooling and the sprayed layer. These are the waxes and agents that are used to separate the finished product from the matrix. Release wax is used as a release agent to separate polyester resin and gelcoat products from the matrix or mould. There are two types of release agents - internal and external. External ones are applied to the surface of the tooling, internal ones are introduced into the binder (for example, into resin). However, the introduction of an additional component into the composition of the binder can lead to a change in its technological and physical and mechanical properties, which limits the applicability of such substances. To work with liquid granite, external separators are used, the most popular of them is the release wax.

Viscosity- the property of fluid bodies (liquids and gases) to resist the movement of one of their parts relative to the other.

Gelcoat- this is a special kind of polymer resin - a high-quality gelcoat, modified (that is, with the addition, improved) with various additives. Gelcoat products are resistant to acids, chlorinated water and almost all types of chemicals. It withstands short-term exposure to temperatures of 215ºС, it does not lend itself to fatigue (that is, for a long time) destruction and cracking during sudden temperature changes. It also resists scratches and smudges well.
Gelcoat is designed for the production of kitchen countertops and sinks, chemical containers, boats and yachts. Kitchen worktops made using gelcoat do not develop blisters and bubbles over time. It is also more stain resistant. The main properties of the gelcoat are increased (compared to other resins) resistance to chemical attack, scratching, impact and high temperature. Due to its elasticity, it is not subject to cracking. It is more resistant to sea water, boiling water and other effects of water and steam. In addition to these properties, it has a very light color and is resistant to yellowing, haze and fading. The granules in it are clearly defined, and their color appears brighter than in ordinary polymer resin.

Gelcoat- decorative and protective coating (film) formed on the surface of the composite in order to protect it from environmental influences, ultraviolet radiation, and impart decorative properties. Gelcoat is the "face" of a product made of fiberglass or artificial marble.

Decorative filler Grani Stone ® :

Decorative- intended, serving to decorate something. For example, decorative painting. Decorative sculpture. Decorative plants. Derived from the French word Decoratif, which in turn comes from the Latin decorare which means "to decorate".

Filler- a substance added to any product, material, etc. to give the required properties. For example, plastic with metal filler. Ice cream with nut filling.

Name Grani Stone® formed by combining two words:
Grani means Granite, only written in Latin letters. Stone - translated from English means "stone". Thus, Grani Stone® means granite stone.

If you carefully study and understand the definitions of each word included in the name of our company's products, then:
Decorative filler Grani Stone ® can be defined as follows- a substance consisting of grains (granules) of different sizes and colors, mixed in the composition, which are added to the gel coat to give the subsequently manufactured product a beautiful appearance, similar to natural granite, and the required properties.

Calcite- a mineral from the carbonate group, one of the natural forms of calcium carbonate. Exceptionally widespread on the surface of the Earth, rock-forming mineral. Limestones, Cretaceous rocks, and carbonatites are composed of calcite. Calcite is the most common biomineral: it is involved in the structure of many living organisms, in the composition of shells and bones. The name "calcite" comes from the Greek word meaning "lime". Other names for the mineral and its varieties: stone flower, stone rose, paper spar, stalactite, stalagmite, heavenly stone, papierspar, anthraconite. Calcite is the basis of limestone.
Finely divided calcite is used as a filler in various systems.

Compressor(from lat. compressor- compression) - a machine for compressing and supplying gases or air under pressure.

Matrix(from lat. matrix (matrix)- uterus; origin, source). A mirror copy of a mold used for casting products from it. For example, a cardboard matrix.

Cobalt octoate is a RESIN CURING ACCELERATOR.
(Accelerator A device or substance that speeds up a process. Examples: Hardening accelerator. vulcanization accelerator.)
Appearance: pink to dark purple liquid, no lumps. Mud is allowed.
How to use cobalt octoate: dissolves in styrene in any ratio and is highly compatible with all types of unsaturated polyester resins.
Main application: used as part of initiating curing systems for unsaturated polyester resins and filled compositions based on them.

Organic compounds, organic substances- class of compounds, which include carbon.

Orthophthalic and isophthalic resins- orthophthalic and isophthalic resins have differences in the acid base of the resin.
Isophthalic resin- resin based on isophthalic acid.
orthophthalic resin- resin based on orthophthalic acid.
In terms of molecular structure, isophthalic resins are more complex than others.
Isophthalic resins have improved physical and mechanical properties and provide fiberglass with higher performance. For example, isophthalic resin has better corrosion and solvent resistance (compared to orthophthalic resin), it is more durable and holds shocks better. That is why it is most often used in gelcoats. It also has better adhesive properties.

Paraffin- A white or yellowish waxy substance obtained from oil and products of dry distillation of peat, brown coal (used in match and pencil production, as an insulating material, chemical raw materials, in medicine). For example, paraffin oil. Paraffin candles. Paraffin paper.
The name comes from the Latin parum - little and affinis - akin due to its low susceptibility to most reagents.

Gun(from fr. pistolet← fr. pistole from Czech. pishala- “squeaker, pipe”) - manual short-barreled non-automatic or self-loading (less often automatic) firearms. It is usually intended for firing at a short distance (up to 25-50 meters), both with one hand and with two. Can be used for both attack and defense.
The spray gun is named by analogy.

Polymer- a substance characterized by repeated repetition of one or more constituent units interconnected in an amount sufficient to display a set of properties that remains practically unchanged when one or more constituent units are removed or added.
Polymers- substances formed by the fusion of two to several thousand simple molecules (monomers), resulting in a large molecular structure. Some polymers, such as cellulose, occur naturally; others are obtained synthetically, by polymerization methods. Polymers form the basis of plastics and synthetic resins and are therefore extremely important in industry.
By origin, polymers are divided into natural, or biopolymers (for example, proteins, nucleic acids, natural rubber), and synthetic, that is, artificially produced (for example, polyethylene, epoxy resins).
Features of polymers
Special mechanical properties:

  • elasticity - the ability to high reversible deformations with a relatively small load (rubbers);
  • low brittleness of glassy and crystalline polymers (plastics, organic glass);
  • the ability of macromolecules to orient themselves under the action of a directed mechanical field, that is, molecules can be aligned in a certain direction, which makes it possible to impart certain properties to a substance (used in the manufacture of fibers and films).
Special chemical properties:
  • the ability to dramatically change its physical and mechanical properties under the action of small amounts of a reagent (rubber vulcanization, leather tanning, etc.). That is, substances consisting of polymers can be easily processed, improving their quality. For example, lamb skin (leather is a natural polymer) is treated with a small amount of a special substance, resulting in a moisture-repellent sheepskin coat.
    The special properties of polymers are explained not only by their large molecular weight, but also by the fact that macromolecules have a chain structure and have a unique property for inanimate nature - flexibility.
Due to their valuable properties, polymers are used in mechanical engineering, the textile industry, agriculture and medicine, automobile and shipbuilding, and in everyday life (textiles and leather products, dishes, glue and varnishes, jewelry and other items). Based on macromolecular compounds, rubber, fibers, plastics, films and paint coatings are produced. All tissues of living organisms are macromolecular compounds.

Paraffin solution in styrene- additive to polyester resins in the amount of 1-2%, in order to reduce emissions ( emission- from lat. emission– radiation) of styrene. Appearance: transparent colorless liquid, when stored at temperatures below 25ºС, turbidity and the appearance of flakes are possible, disappearing when heated to 30-40ºС.

Solvent(from Latin solver- weaken) - a liquid, solid or gaseous substance capable of dissolving other solid, liquid or gaseous substances.

Resin - 1. A sticky, air-hardening substance produced by conifers and some tropical plants. For example, Pine, spruce resin. Amber is fossilized resin.
2. usually plural. Synthetic polymers that cure into infusible and insoluble products. For example, synthetic resins.

Natural plant resins are obtained by evaporation of plant juices, which flow from plants naturally or when stems and trunks are cut. They can be extracted from plant materials with solvents such as alcohol and ether. Plant resins include, for example, pine rosin, as well as resin obtained from scammonia tubers (a plant called resinous bindweed), and fossilized resin amber. Resins of animal origin are rare. One of them, shellac, is a secretion of lac insects living on plants of the mimosa family in India. Some plant resins are used in medicine; thus, scammonium resin is used as a laxative. There are many grades of synthetic resins used to make plastics.

A huge number of objects around us are made of resins - for example, TV cases, microwave ovens, telephones and other household appliances, souvenirs, dishes, and so on.

For production artificial stone a resin specially designed for this purpose is used.

Glass mat roll- this is a reinforcing material made of dense chopped fiberglass tow and intended for the production of fiberglass based on epoxy and polyester resins. According to the surface density, as well as the type of binding segments, glass mat is divided into two types: powder and emulsion. Laminate, fiberglass panels, vehicle bodies and much more are made from this material. Glass mat is characterized by a number of positive properties: it is easy to use, well molded, has stable wettability, is transparent and moisture resistant.

Styrene- colorless liquid with a specific smell. Practically insoluble in water, highly soluble in organic solvents, good solvent for polymers. Styrene is slightly toxic, the average lethal dose is about 500-5000 mg/kg (for rats). Styrene belongs to the third hazard class. Styrene vapors irritate mucous membranes.

Thixotropy- the ability of a substance to reduce viscosity (thinn) from mechanical action and increase viscosity (thicken) at rest. For example, thixotropic paint does not drip from the brush and spreads well. If the viscosity drops as the speed increases, the fluid is said to be thixotropic.

Topcoat- a protective coating designed to create a dry, hard, dirt and water-repellent surface that prevents the residual emission of styrene into the environment.
Topcoat is a coating designed to create a decorative and protective layer on the surface of a fiberglass product. The main difference between a topcoat and a gelcoat is that the topcoat is applied to the finished product, and not to the surface of the matrix. Due to the presence of paraffin in the composition of the topcoat, the surface does not remain sticky after curing and is well sanded and polished.

For the first time, artificial stone was made in the 60s in America. Soon, the technology for the production of artificial stone was patented and gained wide popularity throughout the continent.

But, given the novelty of the material, many customers were interested in keeping the information that their marble steps and fountains were made of synthetic materials secret. This was easy to do because the artificial stone technical specifications in no way inferior to the natural analogue. The technology of its manufacture became known in Europe 10 years later, and gained popularity in our country almost half a century later. And, perhaps, the most famous in our country are those made according to samples or from artificial stone.

Technological processes for the manufacture of artificial stone

The technology for manufacturing artificial stone and ready-made, finished products from it is staged and consists of several steps. Certain characteristics of both the material itself and the finished item are directly dependent on the quality of execution of any of them.

Let us briefly consider the main stages of the production of artificial stone:

Stage name Brief description, notes
1. Form preparation: at this stage, the mold is prepared for pouring with a solution. It can be both a sink and a window sill or countertop. The sizes of a form depend on the concrete order. The product will ideally correlate with the rest of the components of the entire structure.
2. Pouring a mold with polyester resins: the smoothness and strength of its surface depends on this stage of the production of artificial stone. The composition of the substance is such that even micropores do not form during drying. This helps to repel moisture and prevent dirt from entering, and also serves as a kind of buffer when hitting the surface. The solution is poured after the resin has dried.
3. Preparation of a solution from which the manufacture of artificial stone is carried out. Among the constituent components there is a crumb natural stone and substances that bind it. This determines the percentage of natural materials in the product, which can reach 80-90%. Thanks to this technology for the production of artificial stone, there is no risk of cracks and punctures that can occur on natural material. However, today most of the companies engaged in the production of certain items for your everyday life from artificial stone prefer to use ready-made components from market leaders - Western and Russian manufacturing companies.
4. Filling the mold with a solution and drying it is the final stage. The result is just the finished product - a sink, a countertop, or even a vase, for example.

Advantages of artificial stone

This material is becoming increasingly popular due to five main components:

  • . price: in comparison with natural stone, the final cost of the product is significantly (both for the manufacturer and for the consumer) lower. And, which is not unimportant, without loss of quality;
  • properties: artificial stone technology allows not only to preserve all the characteristics of a natural mineral, but also to remove everything that can negatively manifest itself - this is a lot of weight and the inability to repair in case of damage;
  • care: in the production technology of artificial stone, it is indicated that resin is used, which serves as a protective film. It also prevents the absorption of dirt, grease and water. Thanks to this, it washes well and is not afraid of abrasive cleaners. Artificial stone is ideal for products that are in constant contact with water, dust and grease.
  • design: the abundance of colors and textures makes the production of artificial stone attractive for the implementation of many creative ideas. You can play both in contrast, choosing opposite colors and shades for the sink and countertop, or make an apron, countertop and sink in identical colors. It depends only on the desire of the customer, and artificial stone manufacturing technologies can satisfy any requirement;
  • versatility: this material can be used for the production of virtually any structures and objects, from vases and window sills to countertops and sinks.

Leading manufacturers of artificial stone

The American company "Eldorado Stone Corporation" and Wilsonart International are considered leaders in this field with the right of discoverers. Among Europeans, authority was won in the Czech "Magicrete" and in its compatriot "Chelsea group". In the domestic market for the production of artificial stone, it should be noted "Ekolit", Forland, Alcoro-Ceramic and Kamrock.

The broad Russian society, so to speak, of course, knows such trademarks as:

  • DuPont Corian
  • staron

High quality and good conditions Hanex and Lg Hi Mcs brands can guarantee you for the price.

  • Main items of expenditure
        • Similar business ideas:

Today, the manufacture of artificial stone countertops has become a great idea for your own business. Studying the market in this area, we can conclude that the main consumers will be manufacturers of kitchen furniture. Of course, some people assemble furniture on their own, placing an order in such offices. And yet, the volume of their demand is very small.

Small and medium-sized firms are not ready to spend additional funds to open a separate workshop for the manufacture of countertops. Firstly, it requires quite significant costs, and secondly, a wide range of products allows you to find partners who are ready to work at a price that is beneficial for both parties. At the same time, in almost any store you can find countertops made of artificial stone. This suggests that the material is in great demand. It can be used for the manufacture of not only countertops. As an additional source of income, a businessman can use acrylic to create professional bar counters, wide window sills or even sinks. In the search for partners, many furniture companies opt for domestic countertop manufacturers. This is due to several factors:

  1. lower price;
  2. high quality;
  3. lower transport costs.

The undoubted advantage of this business idea is that the entrepreneur works with large companies that provide demand for products. In this case, all aspects are negotiated between the end user and the furniture manufacturing company. A small business entity is, in essence, a high-income performer. The businessman is responsible for the quality of the countertop itself. If there are any errors in the drawings, they fall on the furniture manufacturer. Additional work on the part of the countertop manufacturer is paid. If we talk about the prospects and the possible level of earnings, it should be noted that this type of business is very attractive. The amount of monthly income can reach 400 thousand rubles, if at least one countertop is made per day.

Main items of expenditure

The main components of the costs of opening such a business will be the following items:

  • purchase of all necessary equipment (30 thousand rubles);
  • consumables for the first time (20 thousand rubles).

Registration can cost only 800 rubles if you choose an individual entrepreneur as an organizational form. Other varieties involve a slightly higher state duty.

Step-by-step plan for opening production

it will take a lot of time to search:

  • suitable premises (there are no special requirements in this business);
  • highly qualified personnel (four employees working in shifts who have extensive experience in this business area, since the material used is very expensive).

What equipment to choose for the production of countertops

After the premises and staff are found, you can proceed to the purchase of equipment. It is better to start searching for it in advance. We must not forget that almost all countertops are made according to individual sketches, so spending a lot of money on buying special forms will simply be inappropriate. It is better to do with hand power tools and consumables. So, for the implementation of the activity will be necessary:

  1. Frazier. It must be powerful enough (at least 1600 W) and of high quality. The average price is 11 thousand rubles. With the help of it, seams are adjusted, all irregularities are smoothed out, various curly elements are made.
  2. Grinder. Its average cost is 10 thousand rubles. It is needed for grinding and polishing the surface of the countertop.
  3. Jigsaw. It should not have a pendulum move. Such a tool will cost 2-5 thousand rubles. It is with the help of it that the sheets are cut.

Work is impossible without special assembly tables and some other production equipment. You can not do without consumables, which include:

  • special grinding skins;
  • polishes;
  • various nozzles for power tools (files, cutters);
  • glue guns;
  • clamps;
  • trimmers.

In the process of developing your own enterprise, you can think about expanding it. This will be accompanied by the purchase of additional pieces of equipment and the hiring of staff.

The technological process of manufacturing countertops

At first glance, it may seem that the process of making countertops is very simple. In fact, much depends on the skill level of the working staff. Yes, quality tools and consumables provide half the success. The rest depends on the skills and abilities of the employees. The work is connected with the use of special machines. A person starting to work with them must know the safety precautions in order to avoid work-related injuries. If finished products are used, then the technology is as follows:

  1. Making a drawing. When working with furniture companies, they perform this stage.
  2. Cutting the existing material in accordance with the required parameters.
  3. Processing the edges of the product. This is necessary so that the sides have uniform cuts.
  4. Gluing the sides with the main part. While the glue is not dry, its excess is removed.
  5. Rounding the edges, if necessary, and their subsequent grinding.
  6. Creation of holes for sinks, household appliances.
  7. Final sanding and polishing.

Purchasing materials can be purchased from vendors. At the same time, you should immediately think about the assortment, because diversity can attract additional customers. Some small firms are engaged in the manufacture of special templates, which are subsequently used to create countertops. They are then sprayed with artificial stone. For the manufacture of the template using chipboard. The width of the future countertop may vary. So, if a finished product with a thickness of 0.4 cm is required, then one blank and a template is enough. For thicker countertops, several can be used instead of one blank. All parts are connected to each other using self-tapping screws or special brackets. Next, make an allowance to achieve the desired thickness. Already on ready-made templates, a liquid composition of artificial stone is subsequently applied. In this case, one of the following techniques is used:

  1. direct spraying;
  2. reverse spraying.

The latter method is considered more professional and is most often used by businessmen.

Evaluation of the financial results of a business idea

The profitability of an enterprise is one of the most important points of any idea. It is worth evaluating it at the preparatory stage of your business. The main cost items will be:

  • Consumables;
  • wage;
  • rent (plus utilities);
  • advertising.

This may also include transportation costs. Another option is to entrust it to your clients. It should be noted that qualified employees will not work for small wages, so they need to be provided with decent working conditions. The amount of monthly costs will depend on the volume of production. The cost of countertops is usually three times lower than their selling price. So, the finished product can be sold for at least 13,500 rubles per linear meter. In a day, two qualified employees can produce at least 2 countertops. Monthly revenue can be about 600 thousand rubles with 22 working days. Unless, of course, take orders on a daily basis. The cost of materials in this case will be about 200 thousand rubles. For rent, you will have to pay 20-35 thousand rubles (work in a room of 50 m2). At least 10 thousand rubles will be spent on advertising, later this amount may decrease if regular customers are found. As for wages, taking into account tax and insurance premiums, it should be at least 60 thousand rubles. per person. Therefore, the payroll will be equal to 120 thousand rubles. The total costs will be equal to 365 thousand rubles. Hence, the profitability will be equal to: (600 - 365)/600*100%= 39.2%. The initial cost of 50 thousand rubles will be able to pay off in the first month. In addition, the businessman can immediately start making a net profit, which makes the idea of \u200b\u200bmaking countertops even more attractive.

How much money do you need to start a business

Large initial capital is not required. On average, you will need about 270-300 thousand rubles to start. The main costs for the initial plan include:

  • 40 thousand rubles for the purchase of inventory and necessary equipment;
  • 200 thousand rubles for the purchase of blanks from which countertops will be made;
  • 20 thousand rubles for the preliminary preparation of the premises to be taken under production;
  • 800 thousand rubles equipment;
  • 2500 rub. on the process of registration of all necessary documentation;
  • about 10 thousand rubles for marketing.

Which OKVED to indicate when registering a business

Furniture production - OKVED code 36.1. Also, when registering this business, you can specify the OKVED code 36.13 - the production of kitchen furniture or the OKVED code 36.14 - the production of other furniture. Depending on the material from which you are going to make countertops, you can indicate the OKVED code 26.66 during registration - production of other products from gypsum, concrete and cement.

What documents are needed to open

Before starting cooperation with individuals and furniture organizations, it is first necessary to draw up all the documents, among which should be:

  • registration of an LLC or individual entrepreneur;
  • passport;
  • a receipt indicating payment of the state duty;
  • identification code.

As soon as you have all the documents and you have successfully passed the registration, you need to submit information to the statistics authorities and the pension fund.

Which taxation system to choose for business registration

To implement such a business plan for the manufacture of countertops, a simplified taxation system is suitable.

Do I need permission to open

To open a countertop manufacturing business, you must have the following contracts and permits:

  • permission from Rospotrebnadzor, allowing you to start activities;
  • the conclusion of the sanitary and epidemiological station on compliance with the rules and regulations;
  • waste management contracts;
  • the presence of PPC;
  • special economic agreements that allow cleaning ventilation;
  • conclusion of fire supervision;

You will also need an agreement confirming the systematic removal of various garbage and solid waste.

Not so long ago we talked about how to fix. Furniture with elements of such material is highly valued by consumers, and is in stable demand, despite the rather high price. Is it possible to set up your own production of stone countertops so that the price of the products is affordable for the majority of potential buyers? After all, such a product will be in constant demand.

Not so long ago, a new technology appeared on the market, developed and patented by Maxim Popov (director of the Minplastan company). It opened up new opportunities for the production of quality goods at a low price. After all, all raw materials for the production of artificial stone can be purchased in Russia. This allows you to build a profitable business for the production of artificial stone countertops based on new technology. Let's look at the benefits of such a business, with the advent of new technology.

First of all, this is a relatively low cost of materials ( 1800 rub. per square meter) necessary for the manufacture of countertops. This roughly corresponds to the cost of a conventional countertop, taking into account processing. Moreover, all these materials are widely distributed, which makes it possible to find regional suppliers of raw materials.

This simplifies delivery and provides price stability that is not sensitive to currency fluctuations. In addition, the production of stone countertops new technology waste-free, that is, you do not have to get rid of unusable materials or puzzle over how they can be recycled.

In addition, the requirements for production premises are low, which allows you to save on renting premises, or even gives you the opportunity to purchase it as a property. There are different ways to benefit from the proposed technology. Furniture manufacturers can increase the attractiveness of their own products by completing them with accessories of their own production, instead of chipboard countertops. Consumer qualities of the goods will increase significantly. At the same time, it is enough to increase the price by the value of the cost of production, that is, by only 1 - 2 thousand rubles. As a result, the purchase of such a kitchen will be very attractive to the consumer.

Or you can simply organize production, for further sale to local furniture manufacturers. Few of the furniture manufacturers have their own production. But the ability to buy countertops at a price several times lower than European counterparts from a local manufacturer will interest many of them.

At the moment, the minimum cost per running meter of countertops is about 6,500 rubles. With the help of new technology, setting the price even at the level of 2000 rubles, you will receive a fairly high profit.

But this price may be higher. Thus, when determining the pricing policy, MinPlastan technology will give you a great advantage. Using the possibilities of technology, it is possible to organize a cost-effective production that will bring a stable income. Moreover, this business niche is not yet fully occupied.

The developer of the technology offers to get acquainted with its nuances by purchasing a detailed video instruction, which describes step by step all the moments of production and the materials used. Wishing to pass free additional training at the author's production in Chelyabinsk, they can do this by prior appointment on the developer's website ( minplastan.ru)

Starting capital - from 300 thousand rubles.

is one of the most promising and stable segments of the domestic market. And if we consider the furniture segment separately, then one of the most popular and profitable industries is the manufacture of kitchen sets. The low barrier to entry also favors budding entrepreneurs.

But here it is worth considering a number of nuances. For example, according to statistics, an average order for a modern kitchen set, taking into account all its individual elements (drawers, cabinets, bedside tables, fittings, and so on) will cost the buyer less than buying a separate countertop. Of course, we do not mean cheap low-quality chipboard tabletops, which are additionally glued with a thick film to give strength, but high-quality products made of artificial stone or acrylic material (which is why they are called acrylic tabletops).

In the past few years, artificial stone products are rapidly gaining popularity in many industries due to their excellent performance: strength, reliability and durability. The range of application of acrylic is very wide: the production of acrylic countertops, bar counters, washing equipment, window sills and other interior elements.

Now almost every one that is engaged in the production of kitchen sets makes countertops from artificial stone. But often such countertops are not produced by the company itself, but by third-party factories: it is easier for small furniture factories to order an acrylic countertop “on the side” than to invest in a full-fledged manufacturing production line. In addition, such equipment can stand idle indefinitely, as orders for kitchen sets will not always be available. In addition, the specificity of this business project will not make it possible to work as usual.

All of the above factors make opening a business for the production of countertops and other interior elements made of artificial stone a very attractive enterprise with great prospects for further development, and a low entry threshold makes it even more attractive for start-up entrepreneurs.

Hiring of working personnel, purchase of equipment, rent of working premises

In the process of manufacturing artificial stone countertops and window sills, one nuance should be taken into account: each project is unique and, in general, does not have the correct shape. Often, some elements have to be adjusted, for example, to uneven walls or different angles that are formed by a window and a slope (in the case of window sills). Such problems are relevant in most Russian apartments, both in Soviet and modern buildings, but there is no need to talk about private ones. Summing up all of the above, it can be noted that in these cases it is unreasonable to use non-mobile installations (for example, format-cutting equipment), and in some cases it is impossible: when working with artificial stone, it is better to use only hand-held electric tools.

On the one hand, this allows you to significantly reduce the cost of purchasing stationary installations. On the other hand, maintaining a working staff will cost you an order of magnitude more: working with an electric tool on such an expensive material as artificial stone requires the most responsible and professional approach. This question It is easily solved by setting a piecework wage, when the employee is paid not for hours, but for the work done (produced units of output).

The main procedures that are done on acrylic material (they are delivered to the factory in a sheet format of a certain thickness):

  • Cutting the sheet into separate blanks in accordance with the terms of reference;
  • Subsequent adjustment of the seams before gluing them;
  • Grinding of surfaces of final products.

The necessary installations and tools for the manufacture of countertops and other products from acrylic must comply with the procedures listed above. The list that we provide below is the minimum equipment for the production line (this list is more designed for start-up entrepreneurs with a small starting capital; after that, the toolkit can and should be replenished), which is required for the manufacture of kitchen sets. The calculation was made for a relatively small (but installation requires a minimum of 50 sq.m. of working area) workshop with 3-4 workers:

  • Powerful (more than 1.6 kilowatts) high quality milling cutter. It is used to smooth uneven surfaces of a product, adjust seams and cut out elements that are difficult to perform (for example, rounded edges or certain decorative cuts). The cost is about 10-15 thousand rubles.
  • Eccentric sander (grinder). It is used to grind and polish a thin layer (final polish) of the finished product. The cost is about 10 thousand rubles.
  • Electric jigsaw without pendulum stroke, used for grinding and polishing sheet blanks and non-straight cuts. The cost is around 2 thousand rubles.

A separate expense item is consumables (sanding skins with different abrasive sizes, polishes, and so on), various attachments (saw blades for an electric jigsaw, milling kits of various configurations for removing beveled edges, and so on), as well as auxiliary stationary installations - pistols (for tubes with an adhesive solution), all kinds of clamps, trimmers (small, with nozzles at an angle of 45 degrees) and so on. Also, do not forget about work tables for assembling finished products, cabinets and much more.

The specificity of this direction

In this manufacturing industry, you are unlikely to be in direct contact with private traders. Here are your main points of sale for finished products - (or plastic double-glazed windows).

According to the terms of reference, which is pre-agreed (according to the dimensions of the finished product, configuration, decorative design and color solution) directly with the customer, a solid (mostly) acrylic table top is made. All kinds of errors in measuring overall dimensions, incompatibility of the product with uneven walls, inconsistency of the configuration with the requirements of the buyer, or such a banal aspect as the ability of the countertop (and often finished products have large overall dimensions) to pass into a standard elevator or doorway - you shift all these problems from their shoulders on the shoulders of the customer. And for each alteration and additional processing of the order, they pay extra.

The main snag here lies in the average time it takes to complete one order. The furniture companies themselves are bound by certain time intervals, and for this reason they “pull” the 3rd party. And artificial stone is delivered to Russia from the countries of the Far East, most often from South Korea. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the trend as closely as possible and make certain stocks of starting material and raw materials, and in addition, set clearer time limits for transportation with each member of this link: a manufacturing company, a transport company, as well as with others up to the warehouse workers of official suppliers Russian branches and customs authorities.

With a well-planned and organized approach, at the end we get a well-functioning enterprise with a good net profit with small initial investments: it is enough to compare the price tags for 1 sheet of artificial stone - (about 30 euros, which is equivalent to 21 thousand rubles for 1 sheet with dimensions of 3.68 m x 0.76 m x 0.0127 m) and a finished acrylic tabletop - in the region of 12-30 thousand rubles / m. (linear meter). And from one such sheet you can make about 3-4 countertops!
