What is hair keraplasty from Paul Mitchell. Set of keraplasty for hair – why and how to use it? Differences from keratization and lamination

Recently, many spa salons and hairdressing salons have begun to provide the female half of the population with a special service aimed at caring for their precious hair. And it's called hair keraplasty. After just a few visits to the hairdresser, your hair will become beautiful, attractive and healthy-looking. The effect of various professional cosmetics aimed at improving hair quality can never be compared in effectiveness to such a procedure. Since this service is innovative, not many women have tried it yet, so it would be useful to understand what hair keraplasty is.

What is keraplasty?

This is a special procedure aimed at restoring the structure of the hairs, which is based on nourishing the curls with the help of keratin supplements, which helps to actively fight the first signs of aging on your head.

It is used not only as a cosmetic service, but also as a preventive measure and treatment of severely damaged strand structure. Using this procedure, you can ensure that the strands become stronger, brighter, and split ends disappear.

If we compare it with a lamination operation that has a similar effect on hair, then in keraplasty the strands are improved both inside and on the surface, while with lamination the effect is exclusively superficial, due to the covering of the hair with a protective film.

Why is hair keraplasty used?

As sad as it may be, with age, the hair on your head begins to fall out more and more quickly, it becomes excessively brittle and loses its natural shine and color. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, this is the impact of negative external factors in the form sunlight, strong wind and low temperature. The second factor is most often various chemical procedures with hair, the most severe damage to the strands occurs during lightening, curling, dyeing or temperature exposure from hair dryers and curling irons. All this is done and the hair begins to fall out, and this, in turn, can lead to complete or partial baldness.

Liquid hair ceraplasty can return your hair to its former appearance, make it brighter and more beautiful, and due to additional nutrition with proteins and amino acids, the strands will receive the volume and moisture they lack. In the process, the keratin balance is restored, which promotes accelerated regeneration of hair tissue and cures it from various chemical and thermal effects from procedures and hair dryers.

How exactly does the procedure take place?

In modern cosmetics, in order to restore yourself with keratin, you will need professional preparations, the main task of which is to envelop the hair along the entire length with a keratin composition, which preserves the protein molecules inside the hair.

This procedure is called Paul Mitchell and “Next” hair keraplasty. The Paul Mitchell system, in addition to the keratin itself, contains wild ginger extract, which makes your curls much thicker and softer. In addition to it, there is white Hawaiian ginger, the main task of which is to provide additional moisture that will prevent your strands from drying out and becoming brittle and thin. This composition is completely free of formaldehyde and preservatives.

Hair keraplasty "Next"

This type of keroplasty enriches them with retinol and tocopherol. In a wide circle, they are much better known as vitamin A and E. They also contain essential oils of tangerine, lemongrass, minerals and amino acids. All these components together help the strands grow healthy and beautiful, helping to restore lipid metabolism, strengthening the hair follicles, toning and moisturizing the surface skin and the hair itself.

The keratin itself is in a small ampoule, and it is opened immediately before the procedure itself. It is done exclusively in special spas and beauty salons. The cost is directly dependent on the length and thickness of the strands. The average price of one such manipulation of hair will cost its owner an average of about ten thousand rubles.

What is keraplasty and what hair is it suitable for?

Keraplasty is a new method to tidy up long hair, which can no longer maintain the required level of protein, become dry and begin to break off. This technology will help you get your long hair in order so that you can continue to grow it or simply enjoy it. appearance length that suits you. Your hair receives a healing effect, but as with keratin straightening, it is only temporary. As you wash your hair, the keratin products (protein) will be washed away from the hair. Perhaps this technology can be compared to lamination, but using different products. Keratin replaces already hardened native keratin and fills the voids in the hair (creates an implant there) and envelops the hair from the outside.

  • With frequent use of a styler or hair dryer, as well as with prolonged exposure to the open sun in a dry climate;

How to make it tough porous hair smooth and shiny without resorting to keratin straightening? In search of an answer to this question, I tried many different means for home care, and finally I got to keraplasty. This is a simple procedure that can be easily done at home yourself. I’ll tell you about its effect and subtleties further.

What is keraplasty? This is a procedure for saturating dry and lifeless hair that has been lost for some reason. During the process of keraplasty, the composition enters the hair scales and fills them, making the strands smooth, shiny and softer.

  1. Open scales of the hair shaft are the cause of stiffness, dryness and lack of shine.
  2. With keraplasty, the active components of the product penetrate into the hair structure, restoring it, nourishing and filling voids.
  3. Hair smooths out, thickens, becomes elastic

Who is suitable for keraplasty? For those who have tortured their hair with experiments (like me), as well as for those whose hair is naturally dry and porous.

The original state of my hair. I confess - killed. I dyed them too many times, then I did them, which I didn’t like, and hot styling. Besides, I haven’t done it for a long time, and the ends are split. And they themselves are quite porous, and at the slightest moisture they behave simply indecently. As a result, it’s more or less at the roots, but closer to the ends it’s just a washcloth.

Composition for hair keraplasty. I used the three-stage Keraplastic system (bought in this online store):

I – Keratin shampoo

II — Fluid-keratin PURE Keraplastic

III – Keratin conditioning mask

The shampoo is transparent, with a subtle scent, a little runny, but it cleans well. Fluid-keratin is a liquid Brown in a small glass bottle, consisting of keratin. The conditioning mask is white and creamy. The products have a subtle, unobtrusive, pleasant scent.

They are used exactly in the order in which I listed them, complementing each other. Shampoo and mask are suitable for frequent use and are intended to maintain the effect, and keratin fluid is specifically for keraplasty, from time to time, as needed.

What you need for keraplasty at home. Fortunately, you only have to buy the composition itself. You probably already have everything else:

  • the product for keraplasty that I mentioned above
  • hair dryer to warm your hair during the procedure
  • a shower cap or a small plastic bag (that’s what I had, it’s not very aesthetically pleasing, but I don’t mind throwing it away)
  • towel
  • timer
  • plastic comb (no need for massage, natural, wooden, etc.)

How is keraplasty done? In 3 stages.

First stage - using keratin shampoo.

  1. We wash our hair with keratin shampoo as usual.
  2. After washing, dry your hair with a towel (not a hairdryer!). They should be damp, but not dripping.

I must say, this shampoo is in no hurry to foam and lather. Its consumption is quite large, especially for long, oily hair at the roots.

Second phase - fluid keratin.

  1. Apply it along the entire length, paying special attention to the ends. You can apply it first to the palm and then to the hair, or directly to it - the bottle is equipped with a pipette through which everything will not pour out at once.
  2. Comb your hair to better distribute the fluid
  3. Now we apply heat - we hide the hair under a cap (bag) and use a hairdryer to warm it up for 5 minutes.
  4. After time has passed, remove the cap and DO NOT rinse off the composition!

I tried to save money and use only half the bottle. It turned out, the effect was still good.

Third stage – keratin conditioning mask.

  1. We apply the mask over the entire length directly on top of the previous composition, paying special attention to the ends, and carefully distribute.
  2. We apply heat again - we take the hair under a cap and heat it with a hairdryer, as in the previous stage, for 5 minutes.
  3. After time has passed, remove the cap and let your hair cool for 10 minutes.
  4. Wash cooled hair with warm water without shampoo.

“Hungry” porous hair quickly absorbs this keratin mask, so if your hair is like that, then the consumption of the product will be appropriate. The amount of mask in the photo was not enough for me to cover the entire length, so I had to add a little more.

Keraplasty effect can be fully assessed through several procedures, since it is cumulative. Although from the first use the difference is noticeable: the hair has become smoother, shinier and more vibrant. And even cool (in my case this is a very unusual feeling).

What you should not expect from keraplasty. Of course, you shouldn’t place too much hope on it, because miracles don’t happen.

If you have split ends, then don’t expect to glue them together - this is impossible, and keraplasty is also powerless here. It can prevent further cutting, but what has already been cut will still have to be cut off (for example, done).

If you are hoping to see the effect of kerapalstik as from - forget it too. Keraplasty is a gentle home care procedure; it smoothes the hair, but does not change its shape, so your curls, waves and ringlets will remain as they were, you will not get straight hair.

Is it possible to dye your hair after keraplasty? For the sake of experiment, the day after keraplasty, I dyed one strand (my own red, only a little redder than mine now). The dye applied normally, but the effect of keraplasty on this strand was lost - the quality of the hair became the same as before - porous and hard, although I used ammonia-free dye. Therefore, if you are going to paint yourself, it is better to do it before keraplasty.

Lightening your hair is also quite possible. When using the shampoo and conditioner mask from the ceraplasty kit, lightening does not harm the hair as much, and it still looks alive.

What is the difference between keraplasty and keratin hair straightening? The difference is in convenience, method of exposure, effect and its durability.

  1. Keraplasty does not have to be done in a salon; it is quite suitable for home care.
  2. With keraplasty there is no aggressive effect, that is, although the hair is heated a little, it is not exposed to high temperature ironing, as with .
  3. The effect of keraplasty is not as pronounced as that of keratin straightening, it is cumulative. In addition, keraplasty preserves the original shape of the hair, simply making it smooth, while keratin straightening will make it straight.
  4. The durability of keraplasty, of course, is much lower - it is washed off. However, its effect can be maintained at home using the same means.

Advantages of keraplasty: pronounced effect, ease of use, safety, compatibility with other procedures - coloring, lightening.

Disadvantages of keraplasty: the effect is short-lived and requires maintenance - if the effect impresses you, you will have to get hooked on these products, since if you change your care, the entire result will be lost.

In addition, after keraplasty the color of my hair changed a little - it became a little darker (although this is only noticeable in bright light):

This could happen because during keraplasty the scales closed, the “cotton wool effect” disappeared, from which the color always seems lighter.

I later adjusted the color (lightened it), I have a lot stored at home different means in this case))

I haven’t yet decided to do keratin straightening again (I don’t like straight hair), but now I’ve found a good alternative. Anyway, every time I wash my hair, I always use balms and masks. Now I’ll just maintain the effect of keraplasty until I want to do new experiments.

Not long ago, beauty salons offered women a revolutionary hair care service - keraplastic. The procedure has gained immense popularity among representatives of the fair half of humanity. Just a few sessions can give your hair a luxurious, well-groomed and healthy look; this effect cannot be achieved even with the most expensive professional masks and balms.

Not many ladies were able to try out the innovation, so it would be useful to figure out what it is.

Hair keraplasty is a professional restoration process, which is based on the internal saturation of curls with keratin and preventing the appearance of the first signs of aging.

It is used for prevention and treatment, to restore strength, elasticity and health to the hair, and to prevent split ends.

Unlike lamination, which acts superficially and covers the hair with a breathable film, keraplasty improves its condition both outside and inside.

Why do you need keraplasty?

Over the years, women begin to notice that their luxurious mane is thinning, their hair becomes brittle, dull, and unhealthy. This happens for many reasons, including due to the negative influence of environmental factors (sun, wind, frost), as well as chemical components (coloring, lightening, curling). These factors have an aggressive effect on the hair structure. This leads to dryness, brittleness, hair loss and even partial baldness.

Hair keraplasty can significantly improve the condition of the hair, saturates the curls with proteins, thereby returning them the necessary volume and moisture. The procedure helps restore the disturbed keratin balance and give the hair a beautiful and healthy looking. Enrichment with the necessary keratin will cure exhausted, brittle hair after chemical treatment, making it strong and elastic.

What is being done

Today, beauty salons use the following professional preparations for keratin restoration, based on enriching the hair with natural keratin, preserving protein molecules:

  • Keraplastic
  • Paul Mitchell

The Awapuhi system from PaulMitchell, in addition to the necessary keratins, contains an extract of wild ginger, which gives the hair softness and fluffiness; extract of Hawaiian white ginger awapui, responsible for moisturizing hair (moisturizing mask), preventing dryness and brittleness. Does not contain preservatives and formaldehyde.

Keraplasty with Keraplastic helps to enrich the hair with retinol and tocopherol (vitamins A and E), essential oils tangerine, lemongrass, amino acids and minerals. These components promote hair growth and health, restoration of fat balance, strengthening of hair follicles, toning and moisturizing the hair and scalp.

Keratin restoration is carried out exclusively in salons; the cost, depending on the length and thickness of the hair, ranges from ten thousand rubles on average.

Keratin is contained in a small ampoule. It is opened immediately before the procedure.

Keraplasty with PaulMitchell is carried out in 4 stages:

  1. Cleansing with sulfate-free shampoo. The use of sulfates may result in loss of moisture.
  2. Apply keratin for 5-7 minutes (1-2 ampoules). The hair needs to be provided with a warm environment (cover with a towel). There is no need to wash off the keratin.
  3. Using a special mask to preserve nutrients in the hair structure.
  4. Using air conditioning.

The procedure using Keraplastic takes place in 3 stages:

  1. Shampoo.
  2. Application of keratin.
  3. Using a mask.

The whole process lasts no more than one and a half hours.

  • high-quality care for colored, highlighted, blond, chemically treated hair;
  • to restore the structure of the hairline;
  • for moisturizing dry, thin and weakened hair as a result of systematic use of a hair dryer and straightener, as well as hair exposed to sunlight;
  • to maintain the color of dyed curls;
  • to add shine and volume to hair;
  • for protection from negative environmental influences;
  • to prevent aging;
  • to saturate with essential vitamins, microelements and nutrients;
  • for prevention.

Are there any contraindications?

No harm or negative consequences were identified for this procedure. The systems used for keraplasty consist of natural elements that the body is capable of producing itself, but for certain reasons cannot provide them to the hair at this time.

How to care

Kereplasty is characterized by a cumulative effect; several sessions will completely restore the structure of damaged hair.

The main condition for maintaining long-term effect After the procedure, use shampoos that do not contain SLS, that is, sulfate-free. They act gently and non-aggressively, and do not wash out the keratin.

  • It is not recommended to wash your hair after the procedure for 3 days.
  • You should not use tight elastic bands, hairpins or clips for the first time.
  • Special Awapuhi by Paul Mitchell products for home care will also help prolong the results of keraplasty. For styling, you need products containing water-soluble silicones that do not clog the hair structure.
  • The procedure is not a one-time procedure; it must be performed at least once a month.
  • If a woman wants to dye her hair, this must be done before keraplasty. This will not only take care of colored curls, but will also maintain the intensity of the shade.

Keraplasty is one of the most expensive procedures providing high-quality hair care. However, its high cost is fully justified by the resulting effect. Every woman's dream has always been to have a luxurious, thick mane without the slightest signs of aging, and keratin restoration can transform lifeless, dull and brittle hair with split ends into luxurious thick and healthy curls that a lady can rightfully be proud of.

IN Lately Many beauty salons began to offer women hair keraplasty - a gentle procedure designed to make them healthier and more beautiful. What is keraplasty, how does it differ from it? We’ll figure it out in this article.

Keraplasty, as you might guess, is a derivative of the word keratin. The procedure is designed to enrich and saturate the hair shaft with keratin, a protein that performs the function of the hair skeleton. Keratin is characterized by a high degree of mechanical strength, and the elasticity and strength of hair depends on its quantity and quality. However, keratin tends to break down under the influence of the environment (sun, sea water, harsh shampoos, blow-drying), as a result, protein compounds are destroyed, and voids are formed inside the hair shaft, which lead to fragility of the hair shaft.

What is hair keraplasty and why is it needed?

Keraplasty is a professional restoration of the hair shaft by impregnating it with a medicinal composition based on the natural protein keratin.

The procedure allows you to extend the life cycle of the hair, give the hair elasticity, and prevent dryness and split ends. Moreover, the procedure, in contrast to the procedure, literally covers them with a breathable film, while keraplasty saturates them, acting both from the outside and from the inside.

At the same time, keraplasty, unlike any other procedure, promises to preserve volume - after it the hair does not hang like icicles, but looks natural, healthy and nourished.

Keratin, used in the composition of keraplasty products, is obtained from the wool of New Zealand sheep, and in its composition it is very close to human. Keratin compensates for the lack of all necessary elements in the hair structure and prevents their further loss.

When processed in a special way, it turns into a powerful protein complex with maximum restorative properties. As a result of this effect, hair fragility is reduced by 80%, shine is added by 35%, and color is preserved and saturated by 67%.

What is the difference between keraplasty and keratin straightening?

The most important difference between keratin straightening is the chemical process of hair straightening with a slight healing effect. The majority of keratin straightening products contain formaldehyde, with the exception, perhaps, of the composition (Coco Choco), at least as the manufacturer (Paul Mitchell, who also produces the composition for keraplasty) says, or another chemical component, the main the purpose of which is to straighten the strands in any way.

It is for this reason that after keratin straightening, hair immediately loses volume, especially thin and porous hair by nature (this is what curls are most often like).

While keraplasty is designed to improve their health naturally. During the procedure, what is important, they are not straightened, but treated!

Important: if you want to grow length, cure dry hair, but not change its structure, keraplasty is exactly what you need! The purpose of the procedure is to add volume and smooth the cuticle due to the accumulation of keratin in it.

What and how is keraplasty done?

The composition for keraplastic is made by two companies: Keraplastic and Paul Mitchell. The compositions include the nutritional components necessary to improve the condition of the strands, saturate them with proteins, thereby restoring volume and strength at the roots, and also significantly strengthens and moisturizes the hair.

As a result, even weak and dry hair becomes strong and elastic after the procedure.

On average, hair keraplasty takes 2-3 hours.

Progress of the procedure (for keraplasty with Paul Mitchell):

  1. Preliminary stage. Cleansing. The specialist washes the strands with a special moisturizing sulfate-free shampoo Awapuhi Moisturizing Lather Shampoo. The shampoo contains keratin proteins, as well as wheat proteins, tea tree leaf extract, orange peel extract and citric acid.
  2. Main stage. Application of Keratriplex Treatment ampoule. Liquid keratin, which has a low molecular weight, is applied to damp, towel-dried hair, which ensures deep penetration into the core of the hair shaft.
  3. Fixing stage. Applying a mask. The composition of the mask is applied immediately after the ampoule. The purpose of the mask is to secure the keratin inside the shaft. In this form, the hair should be under a warm dryer for 20 minutes (warm air will ensure maximum penetration and fixation of keratin). Already at this stage, even wet strands noticeably shine. The mask, like the shampoo, contains keratin, panthenol, wheat amino acids and nutritional components.
  4. Final stage. Applying conditioner. After drying, leave-in conditioner Keratin Cream Rinse is applied to the strands, after which the hair is dried with a hairdryer. In addition to the usual keratin, the conditioner contains grape seed oil.

The entire procedure takes place under the scent of a delicate perfume composition. Below is a photo of keraplasty (

Please note, there are no strong odors or straightening of hair with an iron, as with keratin straightening.

The manufacturer promises a cumulative effect, but it should be done once a month.

Subsequently, the frequency between procedures can be increased to once every two months.
