  • with fasteners and wide open;
  • with long short sleeves and sleeveless vests;

If you don’t have enough knitting skills, but you want to knit an original item, you can use melange yarn. Such yarn can have a variety of colors, while the distance between sections and the sections themselves of different colors can be from a couple of centimeters to several meters. Products made from this type of yarn always turn out unusual and original. Also using interesting yarn grass or with bombs, decorated with beads, stones, while knitting with regular satin stitch, you can knit a fashionable item.

Description of the work on creating an elegant bolero

To complete this product you need:

  • 200 grams of “grass” yarn with shiny threads will allow you to create a festive and elegant bolero.
  • knitting needles No. 5 for circular knitting and straight.

Features of knitting

The peculiarity of this simple bolero is the use beautiful material- shiny threads. Beginning knitters will love this easy pattern. Knitting is carried out with stockinette stitch from the neck down in a single fabric, followed by stitching in the sleeves along the raglan line. Using the pattern diagram you can see how our bolero will look during the process and at the end. Scheme:

If you use yarn with a bulky thread and knitting needles of a sufficiently large diameter, this significantly speeds up the work. For a product size 44 - 46, cast on 56 loops and distribute them as follows:

1 raglan loop, 12 sleeve loops, 1 - raglan, 28 - back, 1 - raglan, 12 sleeve loops, 1 - raglan.

For beginner knitters, a useful tip is to use markers to mark raglan stitches. The marker can be a thread of a different color or pins. This is necessary to make increases correctly and evenly. In all front rows on both sides of the inner loops denoting the raglan, we make an increase; near the outer loops we make an increase only from the inside. When the raglan line reaches 26 cm, close the loops. Sew the sleeves at the connection points according to the diagram. Along the edges of the shelves, neckline and back, cast on loops and tie 15 cm in stockinette stitch. To prevent curling of the edges, you need to evenly add 8 loops in the third and fifth rows. Close the loops.

Boleros are used as a decorative element of a wardrobe. It can be decorated with ribbons and beautiful decorative buttons. Sometimes you can find models that consist of only sleeves and a stripe on the back; this type of bolero is popularly called “sleeves”. Knitting a bolero is a good opportunity for beginners to try their hand.

A bolero is a "lightweight" jacket without a front that has only sleeves and a short back. The bolero came into fashion several years ago and still does not lose its relevance.
Any bolero can be knitted according to the pattern like a classic jacket, while rounding the edges and making it a little shorter. However, there are several simple options for knitting a bolero without a pattern, which can be done either by knitting or crocheting, or by combining crocheting and knitting. These patterns can be knitted quickly and even beginners in knitting can handle them.

Option 1. Knitting a square bolero.
To do this you need to knit a square. Measure yourself from shoulder to shoulder across the back. This distance will be equal to the length of the side of the square. Knit a square of the size you need (for size 42-44, the side of the square will be 50 - 52 cm). Fold the square in half and sew along the sides from the edge to the center at a distance of about 10-12 cm, leaving slits for the arms, which are then tied to create sleeves. The shelves can be made to any width by tying the edges of the stitched square in a circle for the required number of rows, as shown in the diagram.

Ready-made bolero options knitted from a square:

Option 2. Knitting a bolero from a rectangle.
To do this, knit a rectangle, the length of which is two lengths of your sleeve, plus the width of the back from shoulder to shoulder. If you knit an even rectangle, you will get sleeves with wide cuffs; for a sleeve that is narrowed at the bottom, you need to knit the fabric according to the pattern. The sleeves are sewn to the shoulders, then the bolero is tied in a circle or semicircle ( Bottom part) to the desired length. Can be left without strapping.

Ready-made bolero options knitted from a rectangle:

Option 3. Bolero knitted with raglan on top.
This bolero is knitted like a regular one-piece raglan from the neckline, only without the front. This bolero fits the figure most perfectly; it can also be crocheted or knitted. Increases are made according to the rules of raglan knitting; the back can be knitted either in a semicircle, or the loops can be closed simultaneously with the end of knitting the raglan lines.

Ready-made boleros knitted with solid raglan from the neckline:

For those who are good at knitting patterns and are not looking for easy ways, I suggest Option 4.
In this version, the bolero is knitted from the bottom of the sleeve to the center of the back; after the sleeve, the back, shoulder and beveled front are knitted in one piece. This version of knitting a bolero is similar to knitting a bolero from a rectangle, the only difference is that you need to knit the back and part of the front to the rectangle. I wish you creative success!

Bolero is a universal item in a modern wardrobe for both girls and women. Depending on desire, preference and need, a bolero can be elegant or casual, with a clasp or open, with or without sleeves, winter or summer. In this article we will look at several options for a knitted bolero. The models are universal, so they are suitable for both experienced needlewomen and novice craftswomen.

Simple option

Let's start from the very beginning simple way knitting bolero for women. The work is done with one piece of fabric and using only two seams. Knits quickly and easily. Well suited even for the first work of a craftswoman.

We only need two items: acrylic or wool yarn and knitting needles. The amount of material depends on the required size, usually about 2 skeins.

Let's get started. The bolero is made using this pattern in one piece. According to the measurements, the loops are added or reduced. The approximate size of the work is 42-46 - it depends on the selected knitting needle size, yarn thickness and knitting density. The pattern can easily be adjusted according to your parameters: the narrow length of the pattern is set to size 52 cm (pictured). The length of the bolero is 50 cm plus 22 cm, you can also add or subtract.

The work is carried out according to this knitting pattern.

After the part is ready, it should be sewn. Fold it in half so that the 22 cm pieces match. They should be sewn from the wrong side. Bolero is ready!

Elegant openwork

Let's consider another version of the women's bolero. This time it will have an elegant festive look. The execution will be more difficult, but it will definitely be worth it.

Required materials: yarn in the amount of 200 grams, knitting needles No. 3.5. These materials are indicated for knitting density for a 10*10 cm square: 27 loops for 33 rows. Depending on the individual knitting density, more or less yarn may be needed. The calculation is based on European size 44.

Let's start the master class. The product is knitted according to these patterns. We begin work by knitting the back. Diagram “A” in the photo is detailed, indicating the addition and decrease of loops.

When the first part is ready, we will begin making the right and left shelves. The diagram is shown below.

Bolero sleeves are made using this pattern.

Let's do the assembly. We sew the right and left shelves to the back, leaving space for the armhole. Then we sew in the sleeves.

Let's start tying. The layout and strapping itself are indicated in point No. 1. Bolero is ready!

Cross knit

This model looks very original and is a universal wardrobe item.

The description is for size 40/42, but experienced craftswomen They can easily adapt it to the required measurements. The model consists of two parts. It is important to start working on the left side.

So, we will need:

  • yarn 90 meters thick per 50 grams. The composition and seasonality can be adjusted as desired;
  • knitting needles 5 mm.

Let's start knitting. Let's cast on 87 loops + 2 edge loops (the number of loops should be a multiple of 17 + edge loops). Next, we knit according to the pattern, there should be 5 reports + edge loops.

When the knitting reaches 15 cm, add 51 loops on both sides. This will be a continuation of the back and front. There should be a total of 189 stitches in the row. Now we knit according to the same pattern, only there will be not 5 reports, but 11. Having knitted 31 cm after increasing the number of loops, double the middle loop and divide it into 2 parts.

To complete the front part of the bolero, continue the left 95 loops like this: edge loop, knitting, starting from the arrow with the letter “B”, according to the pattern in point No. 1. Next are 5 reports and an edge loop. The last purl row must be knitted with facial loops. Fasten the thread. The left side of the bolero is ready. Let's start working on the right side of the bolero. We perform it similarly to the description and diagram, only in a “mirror” display. When both parts are ready, spread them along the pattern and moisten them with a spray bottle.

After the blanks have completely dried, we sew the parts together. We will sew the shoulder seams with a mattress seam. The back, according to the photo, is closed with several stitches in the corners. The bolero is ready.
